✅ on the VFS roster
view vets-api logs, and interact with the rails console.
@radavis: Those things aren't done in AWS anymore. vets-api rails console access can be requested using this template. And vets-api logs can be seen in Datadog.
@rmtolmach Does this apply to review instances?
@radavis no. You will need AWS access to ssh into a review instance. Do you anticipate needing to do this frequently? I just ask because this is not something people usually ask for :) (but we do have a review-instance
policy, so it wouldn't be too hard to get you access 🙂)
Do you anticipate needing to do this frequently?
Possibly. Being able to read review instance logs is helpful when troubleshooting new code. However, I can see alternatives to this approach: 1) merging the code and troubleshooting in staging, 2) pushing review instance logs to a log aggregator such as Datadog.
@rmtolmach Ithink we can treat this item as a lower environment request so I approve access. However I'm going to followup to understand if there is a good reason we aren't sending review logs to dd. Thanks.
Access given. Login information sent in slack.
I was able to login to AWS and setup MFA. Thank you all.
