Question about the scope of this form -- in your description it sounds like a new form, but my understanding is that we already have a 40-10007 form at https://www.va.gov/burials-and-memorials/pre-need/form-10007-apply-for-eligibility/introduction
Is this a new, different form, or are we adding questions to the existing form?
@kristinoletmuskat Thank you! This will be a new application for Time of Need, so when there's a death, Veterans, family members, and personal reps will be able to initiate a burial request through VA.gov. It won't be adding to the pre-need application but will exist on its own separately. It will need to be a part of the Burials and Memorials hub page content, though. I hope that helps!
The pre-need application we've been working (40-10007) is for determining eligibility ahead of time for planning purposes, so not at the time of death.
Ah ok got it! There might be a typo in the mural -- it says 40-10007.
But anyway, I think the form flow makes sense, and we'll just have to be extra careful about making the static pages and navs clear about which form is for what. I wonder if it could be helpful to have like a super high-level service map describing the user journey through burials stuff -- do ya'll have anything like that in your mural space? I'd be happy to create a draft of one for you to review, that includes this form. I can also put some options together for placement of the form to get your feedback. Does that sound good?
@kristinoletmuskat Yes, that's a typo. :) We don't yet have a number for that as there is currently no paper form for Time of Need. Currently, users are directed on this page on what to do: https://www.va.gov/burials-memorials/schedule-a-burial/
That sounds like a great idea if you have availability to help with that. We are planning on expanding the rough flow a bit to include what happens before and after applying, as well, based on previous advice you recommended with pre-need.

Yes, I can put together a rough user journey of the burials experience that highlights the 3 forms we have, and put together a set of options for where we could put this form and static page. I can get both of those things to you by Wednesday/Thursday next week. Lmk if that timeline doesn't work for you.
nd good to know about the form number. We've learned from previous forms that it might make sense to reach out to your stakeholder on the VA side and see if they want a specific form number assigned (we don't do that on the IA side).
The content side of this is usually a bit more backlogged, but @strelichl do you know who on your team will be working on this one?

The form name/number we received from our client is Verification of Eligibility for Burial in a National Cemetery (VA Form 40-4962). Note that this will not exist as a paper form users can fill out or download.
Our digital application name that we're using so far is "Apply for burial in a VA national cemetery".

Question for content team: For the legacy Burials & Memorials pages that are being linked to in the main navigation and the sidebar navigation under various Burials and Memorials pages, is there a plan in place for migrating this content to VA.gov?
Hey @ccruzgra , talked with our content colleagues about your migration question. Short answer is that there is a rough plan to do that, but burials is not at the top of the list, so don't expect migration any time soon! We checked with Beth Potts about the specific priority, and I'll get back to you with that info.

This is basically summarizing the points we discussed in comments in the IA forms mural. We can update this spec once ya'll are further along and we have finalized the H1.
