This request is for the authenticated experience team. We would like to add tracking on clicks into the authenticated menu. Currently, each link within the menu has tracking, but we don't have tracking on how many clicks there are to open the menu itself. We'd like to be able to see this information.

We would like to click tracking on how often this menu is opened. Please note, you can also click to close the menu, so we need to be careful that we are only tracking when the menu is opened.

@Samara-Strauss we can review this request but as a reminder we are really needing to slow down on new implementations so we can focus on the much needed GA4 migration work. Will the sum of each of the individual drop down link clicks get you what you want? Or are you trying to see how many click the drop down arrow but then do not select one of the drop down items?

Totally understand, and thank you for letting me know. There is no immediate rush on this request.

I'm trying to see how many times people open the menu, whether they end up selecting a link inside or not.

@a6marinos and @ACParker89 this was de-prioritized while the analytics team focused on the GA4 migration but I'm not sure if it was ever addressed or if it's still needed. I believe Profile side of the house was managing work on the auth menu.
