Review Performance Dashboard for GA4 Migration Impact

Description

We need to assess the impact that the GA4 migration will have on the Performance Dashboard. The report uses Event Action, Label, Category, and need to ensure the mapping and merging of UA and GA4 makes sense.

This report has high visibility, and is powered with some UA data.

Tasks

• Review Performance Dashboard ETLs and Domo datasets
• Look for 6-months metric rework
• Identify what sources within the underlying dataset and ETL contain UA data
• Confirm we have GA4 Views available, or ensure they are in the backlog for Phil to create.

We met with Mason Crane to discuss this on Wednesday, May 29th. Learned of the following:

• We might be able to use a combination of page path, and the data layer event name, to replace what has historically been used for event label, action, and category.
• Identified the following datasets that are in use that feed the dashboard, and have
• Created ticket for Phil to work on the GA4 equivalent datasets. Outlined as part of this ticket.
• Report is on a 1-month lag, so we might be able to use some of July to make the updates.

Next steps will be to provide Mason with a GA4 data set with the DLE_Name and path path URL to test if the logic can be maintained with the new GA4 data. Moving this discovery ticket to Done.
