Want to note also: I'm working on clarifying this with my contract folks, but: historically we'd been able to get Github/Zenhub access after fingerprinting / SAC Adjudication. Apparently now, Zenhub access isn't provided til after a VA email is available, which means: not until after eQip transmittal notice. I think that's worth calling out in the Access documentation, so people aren't trying to get in with agency emails or earlier than they're supposed to.
Plat Support thread where I learned VA email is now required for Zenhub access: https://dsva.slack.com/archives/CBU0KDSB1/p1714759090775569?thread_ts=1714758847.280729&cid=CBU0KDSB1
Thank you @jilladams ! We will add this to our Backlog for an upcoming sprint.
If y'all are gonna take a pass at updates to Zenhub info, one other thing it might be nice to address. You can auth to Zenhub 3 different ways:
Historically, we've been told not to have folks use Github auth, and to use Google auth instead. (That's when using an agency email address.) If the requirement changes to needing a VA email address for Zenhub access, I don't know how we should advise folks to auth, or if it matters. It would be great to clear up that confusion and document it, if anyone knows.
Thank you @jilladams for the heads-up on the need for an update. @alyssagallion do you have updated guidance we can add to Platform Website?
cc @andreahewitt-odd as well, since we were just chatting about the Zenhub access changes.
Per the above mentioned Slack thread from Platform Support:
Submissions to grant or revoke access should be made in the #vfs-platform-support channel using the "Zenhub Access Request" topic in the drop down
We will still keep an eye on the #zenhub-information channel to ensure that no requests are missed but will probably redirect you to the above process
The #zenhub-information channel will be used for general best practices and Zenhub questions
If those questions can't be answered here (i.e. troubleshooting), please reach out to Zenhub support You can review the step-by-step process for getting access to tools (including Zenhub) on the Platform Site help article here: Getting Access to Tools.
