Create and publish new FMB benefit detail page: Camp Lejeune family member benefits #82938

Open laurwill opened 6 months ago

laurwill commented 6 months ago

We need to migrate the information that's relevant to family members from the existing Camp Lejeune page to a new page in the FMB hub. We migrated the Camp Lejeune page from the legacy site to VA.gov very recently, so the information and style should be up to date.

@d-beyer as soon as you've finished drafting the 6 subhub landing pages for the phase 1 launch, you can start on this page draft for phase 2.

Most of the info we need to migrate is in this H2 section: https://www.va.gov/disability/eligibility/hazardous-materials-exposure/camp-lejeune-water-contamination/#benefits-for-families-who-live

But you'll also need to assess the rest of the page content and include any other info that's relevant to family members. For example, I think several of the Q&As in the PACT Act section apply to both Veterans and family members.

Happy to chat anytime if you have questions! Otherwise you can tag me when you have a draft ready for review.

And since this is mostly moving live content, let's do this in Drupal only with no Word doc step. Thank you!

@laurwill I've drafted the new page and an update to the existing page:

Here are my notes and questions from drafting: - I'm not quite sure what to do with the H1 of the new page. Would love to hear your suggestions. - In the featured content, the third "description" doesn't really seem like a description to me. - In the featured content, we use and define the term "in utero". The PACT Act content simply says "while pregnant with you". Do we *need* the term "in utero" for some reason? - In the featured content, is the phrase "must be or have been a family member" fully necessary? We don't use that framing elsewhere on the page. - Should "Department of Veterans Affairs" be bolded in the mailing address? I haven't encountered that elsewhere. - I think *all* of the PACT Act information is relevant to family members because their claims can be impacted in the same way as Veterans'. However, do we need to remove mentions of disability benefits?

Update: We discussed this page with Danielle on 6.24 --

Hey @d-beyer , page looks great! I just made the H1 change we talked about in the last sync to "Benefits for families who lived at Camp Lejeune."

We currently link directly to 2 PDF forms for this program — could you find the draft form detail pages for those and add "When to use" content? (All forms have stub draft detail pages in Drupal, and we can complete and publish them as needed.) Then we can publish those at the same time and link to the nodes instead of pdfs. Let me know if you have questions about that!

Oh and about removing disability benefits, I think we may want to make a couple tweaks to these 2 Q&A sections, but @DanielleThierryUSDSVA I think we may first want to ask SMEs these questions, unless you know the answers:

Update: I talked with Danielle, and we agreed to remove the PACT Act section from this page and replace it with a link to the Veteran-facing section instead.

@d-beyer if you can do the 2 form detail pages, we can send this to SMEs early next week!

@laurwill I updated the form detail pages and added their links to the Camp Lejeune page.
