Value Statement

As a Designer I want to understand the claims process for dependency claims So that we can determine how to represent the claims process in the new accordion UI

Background Context

There are many different claim types that exist in CST: Full list.

Our new understanding is that we can specify which claims will use the new claims process UI (accordion UI) and provide bespoke content based on the claim type. Our goal is to learn more about this claims process so that we can determine the most effective way to represent the claim using the new UI.

The PM representing the team for Dependency claims has answered some questions in the note-taking document that I am using to record our findings.

I have scheduled the following meetings to support this project:

  1. Dependency claims team meeting on Monday, the 17th.
  2. Meeting with VA SME for dependency claim processes, David Reis, on Wednesday, the 19th (needs rescheduling due to holiday).

After Monday's meeting, we may be able to determine if this claim supports the 8-step process in its current state. As of today, it appears this claim will not support the 8-step process due to the handling of "Adding/Removing a child or spouse to an existing disability benefit (21-686c)."

We scheduled SME meeting for June 26th, however the VA SME had an urgent obligation minutes before the our meeting. We have sent out a new meeting invite for tomorrow, Friday June 28th
