Description

Please provide the name(s) of your product and a high-level description of your product. We are updating the page of the Disability Compensation Application (526ez form) where Veterans introduce the conditions they are applying for. The goal is to optimize the conditions submission page to make it more user-friendly, intuitive, and aligned with Veterans’ expectations. The aim is to streamline the process of entering medical conditions by reducing the likelihood of errors or confusion.

Specifically, this update is about:

Improving the instructions
Improving the autosuggest component (aka combo-box). This includes:
- Overall look and feel of the component for consistency with VA design system
- Thoughtful keyboard interactions and screen reader accessibility
- Improved search functionality to display relevant results to what the user is typing
- Clear free-text option
