“Hi @bellepx0 - You do not yet have access to the VA Organization on GitHub. Please ask your Program Director to follow the Getting access to the VA GitHub organization guidance. Once completed, comment on this ticket and Platform will grant you access to the necessary GitHub repos.”
Removing our label for now. @bellpx0 add it back when you have completed the above!
Hi @AnthonyWFlowers! I originally set Belle up under the GH username bellex0, however she would prefer to use bellepx0. How do we go about switching this? https://github.com/department-of-veterans-affairs/github-user-requests/issues/22560
Greetings @ACParker89 in the linked ticket I see they asked you to reach out to Github, what was the outcome? Due to security they may not just swap the usernames out. From Tier 1 Support's end you could get the user removed HERE from the Github org with the old username and get the new username another request to gain access HERE to the Github VA org.
Hello @AnthonyWFlowers! Pasting their response below. I'll follow through the T1 support flow now.
GitHub (GitHub Support) Jun 26, 2024, 9:04 PM UTC Hi Belle, Thanks for reaching out! For security and privacy reasons, GitHub staff are not are not in a position to determine who should be granted access to an organization account or its repositories. The best way to resolve this is to contact one of the account's administrators or anyone else who may have the account credentials and ask them to provide you with the appropriate level of access. https://docs.github.com/en/organizations/managing-membership-in-your-organization/inviting-users-to-join-your-organization I hope this helps, and please let us know if you have any other questions about your individual user account. Best regards, Ben
@AnthonyWFlowers @alyssagallion We're all resolved! @bellepx0 is officially added to the org! Thank you for your help, I'm going to add your labels back on. Let me know if there are any other steps for us!
Greetings @ACParker89 thank you! We have now added Belle to both Atlas and the vets.gov-write GitHub team. Tier 1 Platform work is complete. The rest of the checklist may or may not apply. Feel free to close when you are done with the ticket. I will un-assign myself and platform support. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Welcome and Introduction
Welcome to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veteran Facing Services (VFS) team!
As a new VFS team member, you will be working in the web ecosystem we call the VA.gov Platform (or "The Platform," for short). The tasks on this list are designed to get you up to speed on the role of Platform, making it easier for you to do your job.
Because the VA is a huge organization that serves millions, the Platform it runs on is equally big, complex, and multilayered. Most people find that even learning the basics for their own practice area entails a significant learning curve. The tasks on this checklist will help you acquire those basics as quickly and efficiently as possible.
User Story
As a new VFS team member, I need to complete onboarding activities so I can successfully work on my project and support the VA.gov Platform.
