User Story

As a Governance team member supporting the Collaboration Cycle, I want to put together a Research Plan for determining what we need to know for including mobile app in the Collab Cycle so that my team can document and implement a plan for getting our process, standards and knowledge updated.

Assignee: @erinrwhite Peer Reviewer:@allison0034 @briandeconinck

Description

In order for Governance team to introduce the mobile app into the Collaboration Cycle, we must first determine what we don't know. The goal of this ticket is to draft a Research Plan in order to determine what we need to know for including mobile app in the Collab Cycle. For a full list of what the scope of our research plan must cover, please see the Problem Statement, Hypothesis, and Definition of Done in the initiative.

Please refer to the Getting started with research for the Platform Confluence page for guidance, resources and templates, including the Research Plan template.

Please also note that the breadth of this research is likely very far reaching. It may be beneficial for us to draft multiple research plans with varying methodologies in order to more appropriately answer our research questions. The assignee of this ticket will decide what direction makes the most sense for Governance team, however please contact and consult with @naomimarcussen if you'd like additional expertise.

Lastly, please keep in mind that there is no expectation for Governance team to answer all research questions in 1 sprint. It will take as long as it takes.

I have been out of office for a good deal of this sprint and need a little more time to finalize the plan, so this will roll over into the next sprint.

@briandeconinck First take on research plan is ready for your review. I feel like there are a lot of gaps so welcome clarifying questions or ideas!

erinrwhite commented 1 month ago

@briandeconinck @shiragoodman Made a few updates to this draft research plan for bringing mobile into the collab cycle

If you have time can you review, comment, and ask questions and note places where more detail is needed? I know there are some gaps.

This study is pretty tightly scoped. If this approach is completely off the mark, lemme know.

Thank you @erinrwhite ! I will plan to look at this on Monday

briandeconinck commented 1 month ago

@erinrwhite Left some comments, but this all looks really good! Definitely tightly scoped, but I think the outcomes you sketched out will help inform the research that comes after a lot better than if we tried guessing ahead.

shiragoodman commented 1 month ago

@erinrwhite i completed my review and overall, I think it's a pretty solid plan, just missing some of the details needed for execution. What are your proposed next steps? I don't think we're in a place yet where we can actually begin research. Please let me know your thoughts.

In addition, I'd love to get @naomimarcussen 's input on this research plan.

@erinrwhite I've reviewed and think this looks great! I added a couple of notes about possible activities. I'm happy to help where I can with this.

Thanks all for the review! We're moving ahead with clarifying this plan in the next sprint - #93601 and #93602.
