Welcome and Introduction

Welcome to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veteran Facing Services (VFS) team!

As a new VFS team member, you will be working in the web ecosystem we call the VA.gov Platform (or "The Platform," for short). The tasks on this list are designed to get you up to speed on the role of Platform, making it easier for you to do your job.

Because the VA is a huge organization that serves millions, the Platform it runs on is equally big, complex, and multilayered. Most people find that even learning the basics for their own practice area entails a significant learning curve. The tasks on this checklist will help you acquire those basics as quickly and efficiently as possible.

As a new VFS team member, I need to complete onboarding activities so I can successfully work on my project and support the VA.gov Platform.

@KKitagawa-Bosch Hello Keegan, good to see you again! To help with this we will have to wait until you get your VA email to move further. This process can take a bit once you have that tag me and I'll get you going with everything!

@bmatos312 - Keegan should be all set as they're a Platform team member, so they don't need to be added to vets.gov-write. I'm unsure if we add Platform folks to Atlas.

I asked Keegan to open this ticket since Governance owns the Platform Orientation process, and I like all my new team members to go through it, even though they're not VFS. Let me know if you have any questions!

@bmatos312 that works! Please close it out as you would if it were a real VFS team member ticket by just removing your teams label. Keegan might want to keep this open until they complete the tasks. Thank you!
