@tpharrison @asiisii @twoangstroms cc: @ACParker89 Created this mini epic for what I brought up on the huddle. Not sure we'd need much else but it would, in my estimation, require all three practice areas to take a piece of the puzzle.
Background
We received an email linking us to a manually generated list of cutoff dates for direct deposit. If a user updates their direct deposit information after the cutoff date, the information will not be used until the subsequent payment period.
initial email message
The US Treasury establishes a cutoff date every month for which any updates to payment information must be finalized in an agency’s system. This allows Treasury to process recurring payments for the first of the month payday. For example, Treasury’s cutoff date for today’s (8/1/2024) payment was COB 7/21/2024. If an update was completed 7/22/2024 or later, that would be deposited in that new account on 9/1/2024. When payment information is updated by the National Contact Centers, we let the caller know which payday is affected by the update we are processing for them. The date is posted in our online Knowledge Management system under [Cutoff Dates to Change C&P Payment Method](https://vaww.vrm.km.va.gov/system/templates/selfservice/va_kanew/help/agent/locale/en-US/portal/554400000001001/content/554400000002433/Cutoff-Dates-to-Change-CP-Payment-Method). Unfortunately, this is not mimicked online. In fact, I just updated my personal direct deposit information on VA.gov and at no time was it communicated to me which payday I should expect to see the deposit in the new account. Even the confirmation email from VA.gov does not contain effective date information. Can you or your team assist with providing that clarity online? I took a couple screen shots from my account to visualize the information. This is how the current payment information is displayed. ![Image](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/38b11581-6f12-4483-91d2-28c8bcd97aac) Clicking the blue “Edit” button leads to this screen: ![Image](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/b7aa61f9-fd73-4d97-af6a-3de259670bec) Clicking “Save” simply saves the bank account information and returns to the view displayed in the first l screen shot. There is no information displayed which discussing effective dates or pay dates. I would suggest placing some language on this screen stating this account information will be saved to their VA profile immediately and will be effective for the [insert pay date] payment. Please let me know if there are any questions or if you would like to discuss.
