Potential problem

Mobile app currently has this outdated, inaccurate sign-in-related screen in its JSON content image

Questions

@mistymg @donmccaughey , can you help confirm whether this LOA gate screen actually appears in the mobile app in production? Don found the content in the JSON file, but when I sign in to mobile app on my phone, I go straight to the VA.gov sign-in screen and never see this content.

This screen is for first-time sign-in only. I don't think it's actually gatekeeping anything. It's just an FYI, I think. @donmccaughey correct me if I'm wrong.

Aha! Okay that makes more sense. In that case, I think we can use the content from the updated initial sign-in alert on web:

@mistymg @sterkenburgsara do you agree?

I think for the most part the content above works. Two things I want to call out:

  1. Can we keep the mobile app button this screen to "Continue to sign in"? The web version's button is getting quite long. I also want Veterans to understand they haven't landed on sign in yet but this was just a screen on the way to signing in.
  2. Can we omit the "Learn about creating an account" link for mobile app? I think that's less relevant to the mobile app context. We also don't want to deter users from getting to what they're there to do -- sign in and access the app and its benefits.

I think we need to still tell them how to create an account from the sign-in page, so how about this?

Sign in with a verified account You’ll need to sign in with an identity-verified account through one of our account providers. Identity verification helps us protect all Veterans’ information and prevent scammers from stealing your benefits.

Don't yet have a verified account? Continue to the sign-in page. Follow the instructions to create a Login.gov or ID.me account. Then come back here and sign in. We’ll help you verify your identity for your account.

Not sure if your account is verified? Sign in now. We’ll tell you if you need to verify.

[button] Continue to sign in
