This new pattern is very closely related to the content of the existing Sign-in widget, prefill alert, or “continue saved form” alert section on the Introduction page forms template and includes some content overlap.

Recommended action

Update Sign-in widget, prefill alert, or “continue saved form” alert section to account for the new prefill page, adding links and updating accuracy of content where applicable.

After reviewing this ticket and the page in question, I believe the only thing we will want to update is the link for the 'prefill alert' should go to our new pattern page rather than the component page that is currently linked there. Please let us know if there is anything else you advise that we update. Thanks!

@ChristineRoseSteiffer This makes sense to me. If possible/relevant I recommend linking to the specific section/heading of the pattern page that's most relevant.

So, for the If the person is already signed in section, prefill alert link might go to Authenticated intro page alert section of the page.

Will y'all also be updating the If the person is not signed in yet section? It seems like we could add a link to the Unauthenticated intro page alert section of the new pattern page, and perhaps remove the note about how "we're currently updating our guidance."

I also see that there is a link to the Alerts guidance that includes the prefill option as an example on that page 👀 Is the info displayed on the Alerts page the same thing y'all just worked on, or does the Alerts page need to be updated too? Apologies if this is already on your list, just wanted to note it in case it isn't.
