As a Veteran and/or Caregiver, I want to feel confident on how I navigate the facilities search page, so that I can find what I need and move on through the form.
Background
During research sessions and testing on Mobile devices, after entering a zip code the user is tapping the "Continue" button, causing confusion when the error message appears. The user is not selecting the search/magnifying glass icon/button and receiving an error message with no search results appearing. This does not occur much on the Desktop view.
It seems users are having difficulty noticing or even seeing the search/magnifying glass icon/button
Scope
In Scope
Investigate potential solutions to improve the mobile view and usability of the search bar and button
Includes: changing button from magnifying glass to "Search", and shifting focus.
Tasks
[ ] [UX, Eng] Investigate what is allowable on VA.gov
This includes:
Defaulting the mobile button to retain the word "Search" rather than automatically changing to a magnifying glass icon, or similar options
Shifting focus to the Search button as the next action, rather than the Continue button
[ ] Review decisions as a team
[ ] Proceed to implementing updates on ticket #95653
