VA-date month select includes an empty option

What happened

va-date month selector includes an empty option. Choosing it causes the month select to show a "Please select a month" error message.

What I expected to happen

No empty option

Reproducing

• Formation version: All
• Device: (e.g. iPhone 8, Macbook): All
• Browser: (e.g. Firefox, IE 11): All

Steps to reproduce:

1. Go to storybook
2. Open the va-date month select
3. Choose the empty option
4. Blur the month select
5. Note the "Please select a month" error
