Solve the right problem. What is the problem? Why are you giving Veterans a Single Voucher? Why is there no guidance? Program description, Program Manager or Point of Contact? Why is there no help to get answers?

If the problem is the lack of verifiable highly specialized skills in Veterans than what is the solution? A program which provides the opportunity for training and certification. The program should also provide step-by-step guidance

If the problem is No veteran has heard of Coursera What then is the Solution? A free Voucher to get an introduction? or a link to point the way?

If the problem is you want to look like you are doing something than heck by all means keep adding websites and pages that lead us down rabbit holes and keep us from finding solutions. This is what it feels like from here. Nobody comes to the VEC to run around in circles. No one body seeking a job or trying to get a specialization has time to waste weeks taking a course only to learn they have to fork out the

Vouchers to Cousera should be for a courses in a series to specialization. Giving Cousera Vouchers for just one course is like saying take this intro to computer science so you can become a computer science professional. What is the point? Please explain that to us. Why give a single voucher? I took the first course of 5 courses in a series for specialization. if I had the money I would have taken the courses without the voucher.

Has anyone actually thought through this program? was the funding approved blindly? Did someone actually think that a single coursera course would change a veterans employment opportunities? Would it not be better to give a complete program that leads a novice through a specialization with hope of employment either as advancement in a chosen career field or entry level employment in a new career field?

posted and closed: Thank you for your feedback. We hear from Veterans, as part of our ongoing user research, that they want to use popular commercial employment resources such as Coursera and LInkedIn. The partnerships that VA has with these organizations--and other private sector organizations--provide Veterans with free access to resources that cost hundreds of dollars. These special offers can be used in conjunction with the GI Bill benefits, and they provide Veterans valuable services free of charge to help support career development. Additionally, you can contact the Veteran Employment Center team at OEOECSUPPORT.VBAVACO@va.gov for additional information on specialization programs.
