New added contacts are always offline

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Adding a new contact in Pidgin.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Even when I know the contatcs are online, they appear as offline. It happen to 
all the new contacts I had through Pidgin.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Pidgin 2.7.2 (libpurple 2.7.2) on Windows 7 Professional.

I can confirm that this is an issue. I have experienced this with one of my 
contacts.

i can confirm this:
- ask a your friend to add you in msn contact, he add you: he say that you are 
offline...
- same happen if you try to add a new contact that he still don't have added you
