Hi. I'm going to close this as I am not keeping these patches up-to-date.
Basically there is no point manually patching these changes into mkinitfs and dropbear as every time either of those packages are updated in Alpine then this remote unlock functionality will break.
I still want to see this changes incorporated into mkinitfs officially but at the present time I do not see how this can be achieved.
