Refactor io #8

This PR makes the necessary changes to the redrock notebooks to run on the refactor_io branch of redrock. merge only if and after the refactor_io branch of redrock has been merged.

I've tested the boss example, but no the RedrockOutput.ipynb (I don't know how to run a notebook on nersc). @sbailey can you test?

I made minor updates for testing this with jupyter-dev at NERSC. Thanks for the other updates. Merging now.
