Google has deprecated the legacy reverse image search service and has replaced it with Google Lens. It is still possible to view the old search results on Google Images by signing into your Google Account and linking the Search service in your account settings.
Follow the steps below to restore the legacy search results on Google Images when using the Search by Image extension. The video below will also guide you through the necessary changes.
If not visible, enable the "Google Images" search engine from the extension's options
Sign into your Google Account and visit the Linked Google services section in your account settings
Link the Search service and confirm your changes
Stay signed in and search with an image on Google Images using the extension
Some people have reported success only after also linking the Chrome service, but linking only the Search service should be enough for most users. This solution may not work for everyone, and the legacy search service could be shut down by Google at any time.
If you know other solutions for accessing Google's legacy reverse image search service, please share your findings in a new issue.
