PURUPURU Plugin has problem with Mayflash Super Dual Box (or other similar products) #133

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
The Mayflash Super Dual Box can connect two PS2 controllers through 1 USB to PC
http://www.mayflash.com/pc/pc013/pc013-1.htm

The driver is here:
http://www.mayflash.com/Download.htm

The windows system can recognize the Mayflash Super Dual Box

But when I begin PURUPURU plugin setting, for example, I click on "L",there is
no responding when I push any button on my PS2 controller(1P & 2P), then I try
other buttons setting in the plugin, no responding either, so----I cannot set
any button @@

I think PURUPURU plugin has some problems to recognize the Mayflash Super
Dual Box (or other similar products?) , because it is not a single USB
controller, it connects 1-2 PS2 controllers to 1 PC-USB mouth, maybe this is
the main matter?

I use version: r48 purupuru plugins defaut settings

WINDOWS 7 Ultimate
Thinkpad t510i notebook

Thanks

Try to connect only one gamepad. ----> Assign every buttons. --- If you have
success, add second and----> Assign every buttons

I think maybe you need two special Usb adapters for two gamepads ----- but not
one(super dual box) for two! Bug possible.

Do as previously said, and if it ain't working yet try the following horrible
program: http://www.mediafire.com/?tyyvyjxkh3m

See if the program detects your controllers, and responds accordingly.

WOOOOOOOO

It's so strange

I just copy the SDL.dll from KSX_JoyMunch_v2.zip to the directory of NullDC

replace the old SDL.dll

The purupuru plugin recognize My controller(although I need to push each
button twice to set correctly)

Now I can use my PS2 controller to play Shenmue now ^^

But I still have 2 questions:

1、The Rumble effect seem to be lost on joystick(SDL), does it only support
XBOX360 pad now ?

2、How can I set Half press and Deadzone correctly? I set Half press on left
trigger (we can only set one button to use half press now?)and keep the
Deadzone setting 25% as default, when in Shenmue, ryo can only walk, he cannot
run...@@

mayflash drivers rarely support rumble properly.

Mayflash drivers can rumble in Epsxe and some PC games like GTA:SA(using SAAC)

yeah, and both of these use Directinput, while SDL is layered over Dinput.

PuruPuru Pack (rumble) is XInput only, since it's a subdevice of the Xmaple
plugin. The PuruPuru plugin has no such subdevice at all.

If the new SDL detects it, then it's probably a compatibility problem with SDL
1.2. That JoyMunch uses SDL 1.3 (WIP), which is why it also detects rumble
support.

Perhaps building the plugin with SDL 1.3 might do the trick, but dunno... I
perefer to keep it at 1.2, since it's the stable version.

this is a common issue, not everyone use an xbox 360 controller.
i use ps2 and xbox 1 pads to play.
Is necessary update this pluggin to sdl functions just like the vmu for
keyboards one

I suggest replace the old SDL.dll in nullDC directory with this one:
http://www.mediafire.com/?tyyvyjxkh3m
or the new SDL 1.3

I tested the two newer SDL.dll with Super Dual Box
pro(http://i51.tinypic.com/20ijlz7.jpg), it works fine---But the old SDL.dll in
nullDC directory doesnot work---I can't set the buttons correctly
