[NAOMI] emulator can't save settings #164

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
For some games, there is need to edit in-system config (change type of the
cabinet, or change number of players), but when I'm change it, settings won't
saved. That bug in all NAOMI revisions, from 1.0.3 to 1.0.4 rev.50

I'm working on it, bios for some reason isn't saving SRam when it should.
EEPROM is saved, loaded, honored, then overwritten by defaults for a reason
unknown. Apparently this is SDK internal code as it runs over multiple games.
Anyway, if I can find out why the EEPROM isn't kept as it is received I will
fix it.

Thanks, because some games unplayable or not launch until you change system
config.

Can this be tested again with r118? I only tried one game and it saved and
loaded correctly.

Maybe the filename+path is too long in this case.

r65 - system menu work, r83 - system menu work, r108 -system menu DON'T work,
r119 - system menu DON'T work. So I can't check these changes.

Not only I have no problem accessing that menu, but the EEPROM also gets saved
and loaded correctly. It then crashes for another reason, but that's outside
this issue. =P

My bad, I made a typo on the lst fine. It's actually working and not crashing.

Probably a problem with your dump or your list file. Not an emulator problem so
far.

Nope. I test not only exelica, but GGXX and mbac all goes blackscreen after F4.
This is absolutely emulator issue. System menu works on r84 also at all these
roms, so I'm sure all roms and lst proper made.

Then why would it be working fine here, but not for you.... that puzzles me.
Unless I can reproduce it, I cannot even attempt to look at it. =S

Post the information of the console when it goes all black please.

Also, please attach your configuration file.

Aha, I found it!!! Improper config by default generated by some revisions of
nullDC, and I simply repost it to the new revisions, so it also not working...

First file - actual working config from r83
Second - not working config from r108
