slow behavior in terminal #77

@zonca today (June 6) at 4 PM Eastern, a student was experiencing what looked like a slow response from the server. When she typed in the terminal, it took several seconds for the letter to appear.

I've seen this behavior before, although it has been rare. Is there a way we could "watch" for this?

Can activities on other instances affect speed? While she's seeing a slow response, I'm separately transferring some files into the /cvmfs space.

it would be useful to know in real-time and go check at the status of the servers. So next time it happens notify here and I will check if I find it happening.

Sure, activities on other instances can affect, they are all running on the same virtual machine.
