[ENHANCEMENT - UXD] As AMELIA HARRIS, I want to Vote and Follow ideas from the workshopping page so that I can show my support for it and easily track and contribute to them from my dashboard.

Considerations:

The team has encountered some confusion regarding the features of "like" and "save" for an idea. After deliberation, the team has made the following decisions:

Keep the "like," "save," and "share" buttons on the workshopping page and remove them from the ideas page.
Change the "Save" button label to "Follow" to maintain consistency with the dashboard, where there is a section titled "Ideas I Follow," and to better align with our audience's understanding.
Change the "Like" button label to "vote," "upvote," or a similar term.

The questions that need to be defined in this ticket are:

Should the new label for "like" be "Vote," "Upvote," or any other?
What could be the best icon for the voting of an idea? A "thumbs up"? An "Up" arrow? Any other recommendations? Please check our Inspiration board.

Acceptance criteria:
Ideas page:
- “Like”, “save”, and “share” buttons were removed from all the ideas page design mockups.
Workshopping page:
- “Share” button remains the same in the workshopping page. No changes needed.
- “Save” button label changes to “Follow”. Bookmark icon can remain the same.
- “Like” button label changes to “vote” or “upvote” or similar other decided by the designer.
- “Vote an idea” icon has been updated accordingly.
Migration: The ideas and workshopping page mockups have implemented the following updates from the new design system style guide:
- New grid
- Typography (Headers now are in Oswald font)
- Components are updated and linked with the new style guide
Both Ideas & Workshopping pages:
- All hi-fi mockups have been updated in our UXD Figma file.
- Mockups are web responsive and include the 3 breakpoints of Desktop (XL), Mobile (Default) And Tablet (SM)
- Final and approved mockups were included in the “LATEST DESIGNS” layer in Figma

Hi @NokaUX, Is discussed in our last Weekly, I've created this ticket for the updates on the "vote", "share" and "follow" buttons in both the workshopping and ideas pages.

I also added in the description of this ticket all the resources @MariliaDP shared with you too so you can have them at hand.

Please, let me know if I missed anything or if there is anything that should be changed in this ticket.

Did most of the ticket today. Going to continue this (tomorrow): All hi-fi mockups have been updated in our UXD Figma file. Mockups are web responsive and include mobile, tablet and desktop breakpoints.

Hey @NokaUX , As we discussed, I've added the tasks for migrating the new design system in the description of this ticket. Looks like it includes mockups for both the pages, the workshopping page and the ideas page.

Hey @NokaUX ,

As promised, below my feedback and thoughts:

Ideas page:

The “follow” buttons shouldn't be on this page anymore, as per the ticket's acceptance criteria and agreed with the team in previous discussions.

Workshopping page:

The “share” button has the wrong icon → It should be the one from the design system style guide. This is also specified in the acceptance criteria of this ticket.

The “Follow” button also has the wrong icon → I think it should be the one with the arrow that you added to the ideas page. The one the majority of the team agreed on in Discord.

Upvote button → Since this is a super important button that helps ideas get approved for Miles (as the idea owner), what do you think about making it a primary button with a more prominent color, like violet? It doesn't seem to have the same level of importance as the follow and share buttons. If you check out the examples from other platforms in our Analogous inspiration > Like or vote + save buttons, I see the “vote” or “like '' always more prominent than the others and it would make sense as this is the main action we would like Amelia and Frank to do in this page apart from commenting. What are your thoughts on this?

Figma file organization:

I also left comments in the Figma file on Thursday for you, Juliana, and Alina because the Figma file seems to be messed up 😵‍💫. Any idea what happened? The "Archived" designs disappeared, and it would be really helpful to have them saved either here or in a separate Figma file so we don't lose that history. Have they been moved somewhere else?
Also, the "LATEST DESIGNS" page is now just called "Page 1", and it should probably be the first page to make it easier for the developers to find the designs. Right now, "WIP" is at the top, which isn't ideal.

Finally whenever you need my feedback on something, let me know here and include a screenshot to help me find the right spot in the Figma file. Marilia and Anwar used to do this and it helped me tons to know what feedback was needed from me and where to leave it. Also you can leave a comment in the Figma file itself. Marilia used to do that too. Doing that would really help me address your questions better 🙏.

OK, thanks for your reply and for update about the Figma file. I honestly thought you, Juliana, and Alina had met up or were chatting in a Discord group channel about this, since it was mentioned in the previous weekly meeting. But I guess that didn't happen.

The Figma file is very confusing for me at the moment, and I'm not sure where the final designs are and I’m sure the developers are as confused as I am too 😔. But no problem, I'll go ahead and set up a Discord channel for all 4 of us. Let's continue the discussion there.

My recommendation is to move it back to sprint backlog and let another developer pick it up. Not a lot of meaningful progress was made here.

Hi @dbradham, just to clarify, this is a user experience design ticket (indicated by the "UXD" tags and "[UXD]" in the title). Noa had been working on it and moved it to Review. Alina is owning it now.
