Display a "Preview/Review" page before submitting Idea #1981

Per previous UX Research, as an Idea Submitter I want to review/preview my Idea as it will look on the Idea page and have the option to either "Submit Idea" or "Continue to Edit Idea" so that I can see what it will look like before it is actually submitted.

Acceptance Criteria:

"Ability to edit ideas before and after submitting.

Four participants of five mentioned they were expecting to go to the “review” step after clicking on the form button where they would be able to review and edit their idea before final confirmation. (ecommerce Checkout mental model)"

@AlinaU1 Can I get your thoughts on whether if and how we still want to do this? (see Reference material)

1.As for "ability to edit ideas before and after submitting" , we've recently added it in the submission form that they will always be able to edit their idea in the workshopping stage after submitting it.

2.Regarding proving users with two options, yes, it could be: submit -> a pop up confirmation message "are you sure you want to submit your idea?" options: "no, keep editing", or "yes, submit/continue".

  1. As for the "preview" step issue, I guess the research has this insight because the button used to be named "next" and caused confusion. "I wasn't expecting this to happen. I was expecting that when clicking on next I would see a preview where I could review my idea and then it would go to the workshoping.” (P1)

To give more details, I'll learn more about the context of the problem and possible solutions.

We might need to consider if "I want to review/preview my Idea as it will look on the Idea page" is regarding the workshopping page or the idea page; And if the focus here is primarily on the content or the visual part.

In the prototype below, the "Preview Step" appears as an overlay after clicking the "Next" button, allowing users to close it and continue editing. The overlay ensures that users can interact with the preview step without navigating away from the submission form page. By clicking "submit idea" in the preview step, idea gets submitted:

Note: The button "next" can also be "preview" or "preview and submit" The UI can be improved. The slider inside preview will show it is scrollable

Hello, Do we have data of when this ""Preview/Review" US was originally written? Thank you

Based on discussion with Alina and Juliana, we will de-prioritize this item as the upcoming Edit button will allow for changes. If there are complaints or new user research that brings up this topic then it will be re-prioritized appropriately.
