Plugin causes Not Responding issues #48

I have several different homebridge instances running on my network, adding homekit support for a wide range of devices, but have always struggled with devices in a Not Responding state. They soon recover, but its very annoying.

I've finally traced the cause of this issue... to this lifx-lan plugin.

This plugin is long overdue an update, I'm sure there are many lifx owners with Kickstarter or 1st generation bulbs that do not support homekit.

An update that resolves the Not Responding issue would be greatly appreciated.

I too am having the same "not responding" issues and general slowness of the whole Home app that is all resolved when I remove homebridge-lifx-lan plugin from homebridge. Homebridge is hosted on a Synology NAS with Docker - so no performance concerns there.

I think it has something to do with the Wifi bulbs all needing a response from each bulb before Homekit updates. It even impacts other devices on other bridges. Other research I've done for this issue has suggested an upgrade to better wifi like the Ubiquiti might help - which I'd rather avoid if it won't fix anything.

I am running on a Xiaomi Mi 3 router, have 10x Gen 2 LIFX bulbs ($600 worth) and very bitter that LIFX promised Homekit and only delivered it in Gen 3...

I'm glad someone else has confirmed my suspicions. We might need to ask if anyone is willing to fork this and resolve for those left in the lurch with Gen 1 or 2 bulbs (looking at you LIFX!).
