Allowing plug-ins other than Flash to run in GE pop-up bubble #218

Google Earth destkop

When GE first started support for Flash in the description field, other
installed plugins (eg. Windows Media Player) could similarly be used by
specifying the respective classid in the <object> tag. However, I could no
longer do that with the latest GE. Why restrict the types of plug-ins that
can be used? IMHO, the choice should be up to the developer.

Guess I could use an external link, though that's not acceptable for some
scenarios. Otherwise I'll just have to use older versions of GE if its not
possible :(

Full HTML/CSS is now supported in balloons as of Google Earth 5.0 (WebKit is
used as
the rendering engine). Marked as fixed (unverified).

If this persists, please comment and I'll reopen.
