What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Simply running Minedroid on a Huawei Ideos S7
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The Huawei Ideos S7 is a resistive touchscreen device. As a result, only one
screenpress at a time can be used. However, there are several buttons that can
be used to control movement. The D-Pad could be used for either looking around
or movement depending (Could be configured) as well as the two side mounted
Volume buttons would be perfect for forward and backward movement. Any
side-to-side movement could be controlled onscreen.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 030411
Please provide any additional information below.
The Huawei Ideos S7 runs this very well. It is also an OPENGLES-enabled device,
and Minedroid runs at a very fluid framerate. However due to the inability to
configure available controls to suit usage, it is somewhat difficult to move
around in the world, much less control anything. However, accelerometer and
compass support does work (if a little flakey - this is due to the sensors in
the unit evidently and not minedroid!) so it can definitely be used as a
window. Giving the ability to modify the onscreen controls as well as
incorporating hardware buttons would be extremely helpful.
