I strongly disagree with the comment:
"I do feel though that when moving parts that aren't on the grid, but with "snap to grid" enabled the pieces should keep their "off-grid'ishness" and not snap back to the grid"
Turning on "snap on grid" is a valuable tool for jiggering things back into
relative alignment with one another once you've messed with them, perhaps to
get some points to stick.
This one I agree completely with - I want it back!

I was going to make the shift key to toggle "snap to grid" as ctrl is taken by
"sticky points".
