Fan speed Windows10Pro RX6800 #367

Hi,

I am running into the issue that I am unable to set the fan speed.

On 1 miner I run 4x RX6800 and don't need to set the fan speed in anyway. The cards run somewhere between 55 and 66 degrees with speeds between 58 and 63 MH/s. The cards seem to regulate the fan speed itselves between 31 and 33%. This fan speed keeps the cards cool enough, Gminer green indicator.

On the second miner, also all RX6800 cards fan speeds won't go above 27%. Speed ranges the same somewhere between 58 and 63 MH/s. But temperatures go as high as 80.

Starting Gminer with option --fan 35 makes the fan spin up to 35% for 1 minute (Temp 61) after that it returns to 27% (Temp 75). During the start up the --fan option is shown as accepted (green).

Using options --tfan_min or --tfan do and show nothing (log entries and so on).

Gminer runs as Administrator. AMD driver is installed manually and no Radeon software. No fancy tuning options set what so ever.

Tested it with: Gminer versions 2.54 up to 2.66 AMD drivers 21.6.1. up to 21.8.2 OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Love Gminer, help would be great!

I have exactly the same problem with two RX6800

Tested the several fan speed options with 2.67 and 2.68 (command line and config file). Gminer shows positive response when committing parameter (fan, tfan, tfan_min) but then nothing is done with the fan speed. OS & driver: Win10pro with AMD 21.8.2 Recommended WHQL.

Also did some testing with Win10pro and AMD 21.9.1, but AMD 21.9.1 breaks everything. Not a very good idea.
