50% dev fee increase (Ethereum)? #643

The dev fee has increased by 50% when dual mining.

Why not introduce a fee for TON instead of raising it for the coin which accounts for most of a Miner's income?

I support the development fees, but in Europe, electricity prices are now almost 0.50 kWh, the [little] extra we were making back by dual mining TON is being eaten up by a huge increase in the Ethereum dev fee.

You guys don't need to worry about electricity costs.

Thanks.

P.S It was a similar attitude 2 weeks ago when you temporarily disabled the low-power option (on the same day of the dev fee change).

I am being serious about the European electricity costs. In the UK the cheapest tariff (today) on the biggest price comparison website is 0.34 GBP per kWh.

That translates to 0.46 USD.

That was the cheapest.

There were literally tariffs on there as high as 0.54 GBP per kWh, which translates to 0.74 USD per kWh.

I am in two minds about whether to switch off and give up. As a techy/IT guy all my life, I love Mining, but due to the massive hike in wholesale gas prices (used by 2/3rds of power plants here). The wholesale price has done a 5x since this time last year. We've also had 25 energy suppliers here went bankrupt in the last 12 months.

See this 2022 article from our government, recognising a 54% energy price increase (in reality its actually much more, 55% is only the average, but for a miner who would be on a cheaper tariff, cheap tariffs don't exist anymore -- its more like a 3x or 4x): https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-9461/

2.79 is not even stable when dual mining. It has way more problems than lolminer1.43~1.45, GUI has issue too. and here they increase dev fee again, when miners income is already in the botton. I have been using gminer for almost a year, how do you retain users with this attitude? and there are other options out there.

I switched to lolMiner because of this fee, and I dont know why but with same setting, gminer get much more invalid seed on tonwhales than lolMiner.
