travels #203

Today was our final day in Tokyo from which we travelled to Osaka via shinkansen.

We started our day by checking out of our accommodation and heading to a coworking space to hang for the day. And to write some more code for "devhouse". The coworking space had free soft drink and free snacks. I drank lots of free soft drink and ate lots of free snacks. The "devhouse" website has made lots of progress so I'm super happy.

We want for a wander around to find a spot for lunch. It was my last opportunity to see the streets of Tokyo.

There were so many places to choose from that we couldn't make our mind up. We eventually came across a small lunch place at the bottom of some stairs. The restaurant didn't have an English menu so I'm not exactly sure what I ordered. But it had chicken and curry. There was also self-serve rice and cabbage, which I was too conservative about. Perhaps in Japanese style.

We finally ventured via the metro to Shinigawa train station where we were going to catch the shinkansen to Osaka. We were cutting it very close and only made it to the platform as the train arrived. Almost wasted $150 but crisis was averted and we just made it on. The shinkansen is nice to ride but you really don't realise how quick the train goes when you're on it.

We made it to Osaka and made our way to our accommodation. The accommodation was very nice and in a great location. There are lots and lots of small bars and restaurants right at the door of the accommodation. The accommodation is more traditionally designed and every bedroom are tatami rooms. But it's designed clearly for smaller Asian people and so the stairs are steep and narrow. Look at this picture! My feet are twice the size of each step.

For now, Bailey.
