posts with a single image show a relatively large image (the featured image?) and when clicking on it, the post is opened
Gallery shortcode is fully executed and clicking on one of the (fairly large because it's mostly Jetpack's Tiled Galleries) thumbnails the image opens directly (what if someone doesn't use the portfolio post type and has a gallery with 50 images in there?)
Earlier versions of the theme (pre v3) had a nicer archive display IMHO (but I know it had it's problem too).
If I'd get a vote I would prefer a more compact, "archive" like display. With a relatively small, left-aligned thumbnail of the featured image, and, if it's a gallery post, a text saying "gallery with a total of 3 images" (or whatever) in the italic style of captions (maybe below the featured image?). Clicking on the featured image would always, and consistently, open the post.
The way it is now, the archive pages look too similar to the main/normal blog pages in my opinion.
Archive display is a bit inconsistent.
