Contributor Type has 6 types:
Candidate Committee (239 total) Individual (31744 total) National Political Party (4 total) Non-Candidate Committee (588 total) Other Entity (2005 total) Vendor / Business (1318 total)
\ totals include duplicates as the Dataset covers a span of Jan 1, 2008 to Dec 31, 2013
Maybe this data in enough? We could have the more detailed information shown beside the graphs, e.g. "grand total for each Contributor Type", "average money donated per capita or per entity", etc.
Also, Since the "Vendor / Business" is relatively small we could create our own dataset which we can use to match a business' with it's industry. This data will be created by us, on our own dataset e.g. A 2-column dataset with first column being the business' name and the second column being the industry that business belongs to. This would mean that someone would have to do research, like through google, to find out the industry that business belongs to. That way we can still have our industry story to tell?
Yo, comment and lets brainstorm!
Do we know how many entities contributed? If we can find that I'll start looking for their industries.
updated the link to be the correct link.
This dataset has Contributors along with a field for "Area, Scope, or Jurisdiction", which looks like it could be considered an industry category.
