The game has a chance to crash during transitions, particularly when music change is involved.
Additionally the emulation's default audio driver "died" during a dialog and the text blip kept looping over loudly until I got to the whirlwind... And the game crashed before loading the world.
Can't track these crashes or the cause, as the emulator just kills itself when they happen.
