I'm using your driver on Windows and I love it. 

Could you port it to Linux/Mono?

I was just able to use the .NET 3.5 1.10 binaries on Mono for Mac OS X version 
2.4_7
without any modifications. A few changes are needed to build on Mono but you 
should
be able to consume the Modbus.dll as is. You will not be able to use the native 
FTD
usb support (FtdAdapter.dll)

Have you tried this? Did you have any specific problems?
