Illustration for newsletter #38

We'll have a newsletter with an illustration at the top to announce to users that we are about to release the pubic version.

The illustration could be of a box with the devo.ps logo on the side ("shipping") or something similar. The idea is that we are releasing/shipping devo.ps. Maybe as well a "sent by airplane" letter (the ones with red and blue stripe on the border).

@JuhaS @zbal please guide her.

Whatever you want.

The newsletter is going to be very simple, though not about "launching" but "launching soon". Maybe something with a countdown then?

We'll be using https://github.com/leemunroe/html-email-template as a base for the email template. I guess it should end up being something like 600px large. See http://leemunroe.github.io/html-email-template/email.html for an example.

It doesn't really fit the style of the app/logo:

  1. We use Open Sans, but not bold and not uppercase,
  2. The image is a bit too cute for my taste,

I thought you'd do something a bit more realistic and less "cartoony".

Better. But:

  1. I wouldn't worry about the countdown and the logo (I'll add these separately)
  2. I would focus on building an illustration that will look good as the header of a white box around the content (no need for background etc).
  3. I would like actually a less "cartoon" and a more serious illustration. Either an illustration of a voyager rocket (https://dribbble.com/shots/762909-Black-Keys-Pheonix-AZ-Poster?list=searches&tag=rocket&offset=10) or one of the rocket flying through space (https://dribbble.com/shots/263862-Voyage?list=searches&tag=voyager&offset=13).

You have the colors from the devo.ps stylesheet. I don't mind you trying to try having colored backgrounds.

BTW, the Digital Ocean blog has great illustrations.
