Can we talk about this in TA meeting. It's not my critical issue for the week but I would like to touch on this if that is okay

This is a good point. I actually have several students that:

  1. Refuse to use the suggested editor
  2. Will only run things in a container
  3. Refuse to do the work necessary to enable practical debugging
  4. Refuse to use NPM
  5. Refuse to use the suggested frameworks

I have no problem with you telling them that they are on their own.
