This is an old bug that cannot easiliy be fixed since iOS is in charge of letting the app live or to kill it, if it is in the background.
Do you know of any webapplication that can keep playing when the screen is turned off?
Hm, yeah you're probably right, and I guess I don't. I haven't used this operating system a lot at all, and I cannot say that I'm comfortable with it (or will ever be).
So basically, it can't be fixed. Except with a dedicated app? I guess that's the direction apple wants to push it, and so they can exercise control in even more ways...
Same in android. Maybe a playlist link can be managed by an external player.
Unless browser (safari and firefox tried) is in foreground && screen is on, the next song will not begin playing. It seems to skip to the next song but then definitely just stops. It works if browser is in front and screen is on.
This is ios 10.2 on iphone 6.
