Accuweather app + USB connect = process stop or reboot

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Accuweather app from Play Store (My tablet does not have this 
problem): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.accuweather.android
2. Run the Accuweather app, and then connect USB to computer
3. Bring down notification and turn on USB storage
4. It will always say "Accuweather has stopped". This time the phone rebooted 
too, which happens pretty rarely. I was running Catlog but due to the reboot 
not all info may have been stored.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
There should be no "crashed" notice (or reboot).

What version of the product are you using
AOKP rom April 20

Please provide any additional information below.
This is not a serious issue for me but I thought if this is fixed, it might 
help other possible issues as well and might provide useful information for 
debugging.

Please provide logcat and dmesg. {REQUIRED}
