Sports icons

Hi,

I've been looking for a more extensive collection of sport icons for google 
maps and I stumbled upon your great icons.

I'm interested in sporting history and I have a database of places which have 
an association with the history of sport.  some are venues where sporting 
contests took place, some are places associated with key periods in the life of 
individuals who shaped sport - either as players or administrators; some are 
places associated with milestones in the codification or administration of 
sport; and some are associated with technical innovations.  

I was wondering whether it would be a big job to create different versions of 
your sports icons with different background colours to differentiate between 
these different types of location?

Thanks for your positive feedback!

I'm guessing you have found the sporting icons we have here 
[http://code.google.com/p/google-maps-icons/wiki/SportsIcons]

The "problem" with your request is that we don't do the same icons with 
different background since we categorize the icons by that color e.i. Orange is 
Sports, Health & Beauty map icons.  What we can help you with is to create more 
icons topics.

There is nothing preventing you downloading and changing the icons we have made 
to facilitate your needs, but you will have to host the icons your self (and 
quote us as source).

We now have a new website http://mapicons.nicolasmollet.com that allows to 
choose your custom colors.
