intro needs to emphasize catalog as nuisance #16

usually the scientific question of interest (the IMF or the LF or the number counts or something higher leve still) is much more important than the position or brightness of any individual star. The catalog, therefore, is really a huge set of nuisance parameters. Probabilistic reasoners would want to marginalize those out. We are making that (insanely ambitious goal) possible.

I've written a sentence or two alluding to this but you may want to elaborate.
