I'd like to throw C-literate on the table.
C-man, perhaps? I guess that's a bit too gender charged.
Maybe "system hacker" since C is a system programming language.
... yet I have never worked with anything considered "low-level". I've never programmed any embedded devices, nor have I written code or committed to projects that distinguish between real and protected mode, etc.
It may be a note of nit-pickery, but C is not a low-level programming language. It may not be as high level as Python, but it's a machine-independent third generation programming language, grouped along-side C++, C# and Java just to name a few.
Perhaps you could come up with a more accurate description for a C programmer?
