The macos14 test is failing, apparently due to a missing gfortran in the test environment. All the other elements of the matrix work, so I think we should merge anyway. Otherwise we'll get another automated PR this weekend.

Maybe leave this for a few more days - it's on my to-do list to fix that build. Should be easy, I think!!
