Matplotlib formatting '-' weird #206

Getting the error during corner plotting (when im trying to format the axes tick labels):

ValueError: could not convert string to float: '7.4180000000eāˆ’1'

BTW the motivation for this is that the corner plots axes offset values for ticks can sometimes be unreadable
