Setup:

[ ] Read papers / learn about CNN's, ML
[ ] Learn skills in python / linux
[ ] Get setup on glf-science-5 + clone repo etc
[ ] Read the DFOBot code
[ ] Train the DFOBot

Value added + easy/I have a full road map of how to get there:

[ ] Contribute to DFOBot report
[ ] Write script to perform and visualize 2D hyperparameter search
[ ] Write script to visualize outlier images from trained model
[ ] Write script to visualize which features the CNN outputs
[ ] Investigate non ResNet50 models
[ ] Add image scale to data augmentation vector via preprocessing
[ ] Optmize design of post CNN layers (if interested in ML)
[ ] Automate capture of scale (if interested in image analysis)
[ ] Create pipeline to annotates images instead of aging them

Value added bonus (needs more research on my end:

[ ] Polar coordinate transformation
[ ] Ensemble learning
[ ] Obtaining a generalized model that can be retrained using small data sets
[ ] ...
