Both of them are waiting for numeric input... Either just the menu functionality needs to be taken out (probably just removing QuickX functionality), adding another quirk to my version of this software, or message read by number needs to be moved to be handled just within the read menu prompt. Looking into the issue with jumping to message by number (#198) may give a heads up on what may be easiest, if we're looking at a rewrite of the message by number functionality we could just jump to rewriting it at the message read level.
