I really think this should be doable, and would help clean up the interface (big dump of "alias" entries looks a little messy). From there, it would be fairly straightforward to programmatically (or semi manually) generate URLs based on CURIEs.
[ ] Add xref tables to database
[ ] Define an xref regex pattern (I think we have a CURIE pattern somewhere in VRS Python?)
[ ] Maybe add some logic to the add_alias methods that checks if something looks like an xref, and if it is, adds it to the xref table instead of the alias table
