This is, of course, self-contradictory, but sadly Scientific Word generates such code. LaTeX prioritizes the \nolimits, whereas ar5iv currently prioritizes the asterisk. I suggest following LaTeX, to avoid discrepancy (I'm hardly the only author using Scientific Word).
